Description
Pure, local, raw Colorado wildflower comb honey produced from my four honey bee colonies in Aurora, CO. This is as raw as honey comes – it’s simply cut out of the hive and boxed for you. These were harvested September 2023, available in 4″x4″ squares (12oz) or 2″x4″ bars (6oz).
Eating raw honeycomb is an experience in itself. The wax is fully edible but is an acquired taste due to the texture – it’s akin to swallowing chewing gum so tends to feel very counter-inuitive to people who haven’t tried it before. To mitigate this, try eating the comb honey on something else such as a cracker or piece of toast.
Comb honey is very beautiful – look at the sides of the box and notice the cross section of comb – that’s exactly as the honey bees decide to build it! Some yellow/orange pollen staining is normal on the surface of the wax cappings.
As a Colorado cottage food producer (certificate), honey can unfortunately only be shipped within Colorado. If you are outside of Colorado, I encourage you to find a beekeeper local to you to buy honey from!
