Description
One of a kind pendant made from real honeycomb harvested from my hives! The honeycomb is cut to size/shape, set within the moon shaped stone, sealed, painted with a conductive paint, and then coated with a thick layer of copper through the process of electroforming.
The stone is fossil palm root cut to a crescent moon shape and polished.
Pendant measures approximately 1 5/8″ x 1 3/4″ x 1/4″ and comes with an 18″ copper-plated brass cable chain with an S-hook clasp (handmade in India), in a cardboard jewelry box with an anti-tarnish strip to keep the pendant looking like it does now for longer. You can add an anti-tarnish bag for $1 extra. Don’t throw away the jewelry card – it is seed paper containing a mix of 6 North American wildflower seeds (Catchfly, Sweet Alyssum, Snapdragon, Bird’s Eye, Black Eyed Susan, and Clarkia), which are all non-GMO, non-invasive, and approved for planting across North America by the CFIA and USDA.
Care tips:
- Do not expose your jewelry to water – avoid wearing in the shower, while swimming, or doing dishes. Remove jewelry to apply lotion or makeup.
- Do not store in direct sunlight.
- It is natural for the piece to change color over time. To retain the original look as long as possible, store in the box with the anti-tarnish tab or baggie that came with your order.
- The sealant will naturally wear off over time (and may flake off – this is ok), exposing the raw copper. When this happens, the copper may start developing a patina and may leave a green stain on your skin which is harmless. You can re-seal the jewelry with a layer of clear nail polish or specially made metal jewelry sealant (it was originally sealed with one called protectaclear).
